Former U.S. Army Maj. Hyun K. Park of La Canada Flintridge will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game Tuesday evening as the Los Angeles Dodgers face the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium.
Park served in the Army for 11 years, both on reserve and active duty. He was a squadron surgeon in Iraq and was also deployed to South Korea.
Park’s awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal, and many others.
He is a physician with Methodist Hospital of Southern California.
In connection with Korea Night, the U.S. and South Korean national anthems will be performed by guitarist Kim Se-hwang, the first K-pop artist inducted into the Rock Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Korean musical artist Luna Lee will perform before the game.
The game is also “Game of Thrones” Night with a trivia contest taking place on the field before the game.
