“Bad Boys For Life” kept the top spot at the North American box office this weekend with $34 million, according to industry estimates out Sunday. The action comedy starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence — the third in a long-running franchise — opened in first place last weekend.

“1917” — considered the favorite to win best picture at next month’s Academy Awards — was second with $15.8 million in its fifth week in theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported.

“Dolittle” was third, taking in $12.5 million in its second week of release.

“The Gentlemen” opened in fourth place with $11 million, followed by “Jumanji: The Next Level,” which grossed another $7.9 million in its seventh week in theaters.

Rounding out the 10 top-grossing films of the weekend were “The Turning” ($7.3 million), “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” ($5.1 million), “Little Women” ($4.7 million), “Just Mercy” ($4 million) and “Knives Out” ($3.6 million).
