One Year Ago (Thursday, August 27, 2020)…Actress, comedian and podcaster Nicole Byer was named Thursday the host of the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which will be held in a virtual fashion over five nights.

Byer, host of Netflix’s baking series “Nailed It!,” also starred in the comedy series “Loosely Exactly Nicole,” and has appeared in shows including “Transparent” and “30 Rock” and in films such as “Bad Hair” and “Valley Girl.”

The Creative Arts Emmys will be held over four consecutive nights from Sept. 14-17, with the events streamed online, concluding on Sept. 19 in an event televised on FXX.

The main Emmy ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held virtually on Sept. 20.

In addition to naming Byer as host, the Television Academy announced a slate of presenters for the Creative Arts ceremonies, including Jeff Bridges, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Brandee Evans, Chris Hardwick, Issa Rae, Wanda Sykes, Leslie Odom Jr. and Erin Moriarty.
