“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” took earned another $19 million at North American theaters over the weekend to reclaim the top spot, narrowly topping Disney’s “Elemental,” according to final figures released Monday.
The animated “Spider-Man” sequel has collected more than $316.7 million during its four weeks in theaters, according to box-office tracker Comscore.
“Elemental” earned 18.4 million between Friday and Sunday, giving it a $65.5 million total in its two weeks of release.
“The Flash” collected $15.1 million to take third place, followed by the debut of Jennifer Lawrence’s R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings,” which opened with $15 million.
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” earned $11.7 million to take fifth place.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Asteroid City” ($9 million), “The Little Mermaid” ($8.6 million), “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” ($3.5 million), “The Blackening” ($3 million) and “The Boogeyman” ($2.6 million).
This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $109.7 million. The year-to-date total is $4.352 billion — an increase of 21% over the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
