“Oppenheimer,” “Barbie” and “Poor Things” continued adding to their awards season credentials Thursday as they were among the films picking up nominations for the 74th annual American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards for film editing.
“Oppenheimer” editor Jennifer Lame was nominated for best edited drama film, as were Laurent Sénéchal for “Anatomy of a Fall,” Thelma Schoonmaker for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Michelle Tesoro for “Maestro” and Keith Fraase for “Past Lives.”
For comedy films, ACE nominations went to William Goldenberg for “Air,” Hilda Rasula for “American Fiction,” Nick Houy for “Barbie,” Kevin Tent for “The Holdovers” and Yorgos Mavropsaridis for “Poor Things.”
The ACE Eddie Awards will be presented March 3 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The event will be hosted by drag queen, performer and activist Nina West, who recently concluded a two-year run portraying Edna Turnblad in the national touring production of “Hairspray.”
During the ceremony, “Hairspray” filmmaker John Waters will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award. Film editors Kate Amend and Walter Murch will receive Career Achievement Awards, while editor Stephen Lovejoy will receive the Heritage Award for his work on behalf of ACE.
