William H. Macy and a neighbor have settled a lawsuit in which the actor was accused of having his landscapers intentionally cut down the other man’s trees.

Attorneys for plaintiff Pierce Brown filed court papers Tuesday with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Theresa Traber informing her of the “conditional” accord, but no terms were divulged.

In the suit brought in March 2023, Brown states that in late December 2021, the “Fargo” actor’s landscapers went onto the plaintiff’s property without permission while Brown was vacationing and “destroyed and removed or seriously damaged” several healthy, decades-old mature pine trees and other vegetation on Brown’s property while also damaging the gate between the two properties.

In January 2022, Macy went to Brown’s home and admitted to the wrongdoing of his workers, the suit states.

However, Macy countersued Brown in June 2023, denying the neighbor’s lawsuit allegations. The countersuit stated that Brown’s trees posed a serious danger of collapsing from recent rains and that more wet weather was predicted.

“It appeared obvious that the tops of the Brown property trees would strike the roof of the Macy property if the trees collapsed,” the countersuit stated.

The 74-year-old Macy has been married to former “Desperate Housewives” actress Felicity Huffman since September 1997.
