The L.A. Philharmonic will officially open a Park & Ride location in Sylmar Saturday, offering an alternative for concert-goers to reach the Hollywood Bowl.

The newest location, at the Sylmar Metrolink Station at 12219 Frank Modugno Drive in the northeast San Fernando Valley, will operate on select concert nights. Riders can reserve spots in advance for $8, or pay $12 on the day of the event.

“This new service reflects our commitment to equity, sustainability and joy — bringing music and performing arts closer for more Angelenos,” Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, whose district includes the Sylmar area, said in a statement.

Horvath and Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, as it offers service to the Bowl’s opening night with Hugh Jackman.

The Hollywood Bowl Park & Ride system has about 15 locations throughout L.A. County. There are also free shuttles from locations closer to the venue.
