A week before the star-studded, live-televised main event, the Emmy Awards will hold their annual undercard Saturday evening and Sunday — the Creative Arts Emmys, presenting the bulk of this year’s trophies and honoring excellence in mainly behind-the-scenes categories.

Still, Saturday’s and Sunday’s ceremonies at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles will not be lacking in A-List glitter, with Jamie Lee Curtis, Ron Howard, Maya Rudolph and Sarah Silverman among the stars acting as presenters.

The Creative Arts Emmys are mainly in technical categories such as picture editing, costuming, hairstyling, makeup and sound, but also include awards for guest acting.

An edited version of the Creative Arts ceremonies will air next Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. on FXX and stream on Hulu through Oct. 7.

The main event — the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards — will take place next Sunday, Sept. 14, also at the Peacock Theater, and be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze. That show will air at 5 p.m. PT on CBS and stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

“Severance,” with 27 nods, leads the main awards nominations, followed by “The Penguin” with 24 and “The Studio” and “The White Lotus” with 23 each.

This year’s Creative Emmy lineup features a mix of television veterans and emerging talent representing shows across multiple platforms.

Presenters on Saturday include Curtis, Howard and Rudolph, along with Ali Ahn, Malin Akerman, Nikki Boyer, Gwendoline Christie, Rhenzy Feliz, Shawn Hatosy, Robby Hoffman, Mikaela Hoover, Katherine LaNasa, Justine Lupe, Kelly Mantle, Trixie Mattel, Kevin Miles, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Craig Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Theo Rossi, Rhea Seehorn, Sarah Shahi, Simons, Brittany Snow, Tayme Thapthimthong, Jackie Tohn, Noah Wyle and executive producer Kelvin Yu.

Presenters on Sunday include Silverman, along with Questlove, Jennifer Affleck, Mikey Day, Nyle DiMarco, Amaya Espinal, Danielle Fishel, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Harvey Guillén, David Hoffman, Iris Kendall, Jordan Klepper, Whitney Leavitt, Thomas Lennon, Joe Manganiello, Marlee Matlin, Atsuko Okatsuka, Tanner Smith and Connor Tomlinson.

Last month, winners in nine juried categories — including animation, costume, emerging media programming and motion design — were announced by The Television Academy. Those winners will be among the trophies presented Saturday and Sunday.

The juried-category winners already announced emerged from screenings by panels of professionals in each particular area in a one-step evaluation and voting procedure.
