The drama-horror film “Sinners” earned a leading 18 nominations Monday for the 57th NAACP Image Awards, while “Bel-Air” led the way among television programs with seven.

“Sinners” star Michael B. Jordan was among the nominees for the top prize of entertainer of the year, along with Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, Kendrick Lamar and Teyana Taylor.

Taylor, an actress and singer-songwriter, scored a total of six nominations, including a nod for supporting actress for “One Battle After Another” and for her album “Escape Room.”

Jordan was also nominated for outstanding actor in a motion picture, a category that also includes André Holland for “Love, Brooklyn,” Denzel Washington for “Highest 2 Lowest,” Nnamdi Asomugha for “The Knife” and Tyriq Withers for “HIM.”

Erivo was nominated for outstanding actress for her role in “Wicked: For Good.” She will compete with Danielle Deadwyler for “40 Acres,” Keke Palmer for “One of Them Days,” Kerry Washington for “Shadow Force” and Tessa Thompson for “Hedda.”

Nominated along with “Sinners” for outstanding motion picture were “Highest 2 Lowest,” “One of Them Days,” “Sarah’s Oil” and “Wicked: For Good.”

One the small screen, “Bel-Air” was nominated for outstanding drama series, along with “Beyond the Gates,” “Forever,” “Paradise” and “Reasonable Doubt.” Comedy series nods went to “Abbott Elementary,” “Harlem,” “Survival of the Thickest,” “The Residence” and “The Upshaws.”

The Image Awards, billed as an annual celebration of Black excellence across a wide array of categories, will be presented Feb. 28 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, televised on BET.
