An expanded lineup for the Television Academy’s Televerse 26 festival next month will include reunions celebrating the Emmy-winning series “Homeland” and “Six Feet Under,” along with behind-the-scenes sessions on television production.
The three-day festival will be held Aug. 14-16 at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE, according to organizers.
“Televerse is a celebration of all things television, including Emmy nominees and winners, innovative storytellers and beloved content, providing attendees with unprecedented opportunities to come face-to-face with their favorite stars on their favorite shows while offering insights and expertise from craftspeople, tech pioneers and innovators across the industry,” the Television Academy said in a statement.
Newly announced programming includes a reunion of the creative team behind “Homeland,” featuring co-creators Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, director and executive producer Lesli Linka Glatter and other writers and producers from the series.
A 25th anniversary retrospective on “Six Feet Under” will include a screening of the acclaimed series finale, “Everyone’s Waiting,” followed by a discussion with creator Alan Ball and members of the creative team about the making of the final episode, organizers said.
Additional sessions will examine live sports television production with broadcasters and former athletes representing the Lakers, Dodgers and Kings, along with a presentation by Emmy-nominated editor Michael Ruscio exploring the television editing process.
Previously announced events include an acting class with Henry Winkler, a 25th anniversary reunion for “Band of Brothers,” reunions for “My So-Called Life” and “Revenge,” and sessions on horror television, music for television and visual effects.
Festival passes are on sale, with additional programming expected to be announced before the event begins.
