A limited-run Cheez-It food court stall opened Wednesday at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park as part of a partnership with Chain, a Los Angeles-based pop cuisine company founded by actor B.J. Novak.
The Cheez-It Court is part of a six-month Chain residency at the mall’s Topanga Social food hall that also features dishes created by chefs Roy Choi, Calvin Eng, Mason Hereford and Mei Lin, along with a new snacks and desserts concept developed with General Mills, according to the companies.
The Cheez-It Court will operate through Sept. 30 as the first of the residency’s monthly rotating brand collaborations.
The menu features three Cheez-It-inspired versions of food court staples: a cinnamon roll, a Wagyu hot dog and a cheesesteak.
“Chain is an experiential company with food at its core,” Chain CEO Steve Milton said. “We’ve seen what’s possible at our events and festivals: people coming together over food, sharing memories and creating new ones.”
He added, “This residency gives us the opportunity to grow that experience, welcome more people in and create new drops and collabs, from Chain Snacks with General Mills to the Cheez-It Court.”
The residency also marks the debut of Chain Snacks, a snacks and desserts concept developed with General Mills. The launch menu includes seven desserts and drinks incorporating or inspired by familiar cereal brands.
Among the offerings are a Lucky Charms Taco FrÃo made with cereal-flavored milk ice cream, a Honey Nut Cheerios Matcha Cloud, Reese’s Puffs Churros and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Tiramisu.
The Cheez-It stall will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and noon to 9 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, officials said.
Novak, an actor, writer and producer best known for his work on NBC’s “The Office,” founded Chain, a Los Angeles-based company that creates dining experiences centered on familiar foods and restaurant brands.
Westfield Topanga is at 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
