Christmas Eve in the Southland will be marked Sunday by three Masses at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and the 58th annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Christmas Eve Masses will be celebrated in English at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and in Spanish at 9 p.m.

The holiday celebration will be held from 3-6 p.m. and feature 22 music, dance and choral ensembles totaling more than 500 performers. It is billed by organizers as the county’s largest multicultural holiday celebration.

Highlights include the Harmonic Bronze Handbell Ensemble, which will perform a classical handbell piece celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah; Mostly Kosher, which will play upbeat Jewish folk and holiday songs; the Jung Im Lee Korean Dance Company, which will perform a Korean drumming dance; and Las Colibri, which will perform a collection of holiday songs.

Admission and parking are free. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.

The celebration will be televised live by KOCE-TV Channel 50 and online at It will be rebroadcast at 9 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday.
