The driver of a 1993 Nissan who was killed in a head-on collision with a big rig in Littlerock was a resident of nearby Pearblossom, authorities said Sunday.

Julio Flores was 27, coroner’s Lt. Nani Cholakians said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flores was killed just after 12:50 a.m. Saturday on the eastbound Pearblossom (138) Highway when his car crossed over the double yellow lines and into the path of a big rig, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The 51-year-old man driving the 2017 Freightliner was rushed to Palmdale Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, the CHP said.

The big rig was eastbound when the Nissan traveled to the left and over the double yellow lines of the center median.
