Knott’s Berry Farm has a variety of events scheduled in 2020 to celebrate the theme park’s 100th anniversary, including a new 4-D interactive dark ride.
The new “Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair” is a new take on a mid-1970s classic attraction at the park.
Guests will go on a journey with a similar narrative to the original ride with scenes in the Boysenberry Pie Factory, Frog Forest, Fortune Teller Camp, Thunder Cave and Weird Woods. The story takes place 34 years later as Boysen Bear and Girlsen Bear try to earn a blue ribbon at the county fair for their boysenberry pies while dueling with Crafty Coyote and his pups, who are intent on gobbling down the pies.
“The return of Knott’s Bear-y Tales is perfect for the 100th anniversary because it brings back one of the park’s most nostalgic and beloved attractions in an innovative 4-D dark-ride format that will delight an entirely new generation of fans,” said Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager of Knott’s.
The festivities throughout the year will also include a new interactive storyline for the “Ghost Town Alive!” attraction, starting May 15 with a return of Knott’s Summer Nights, which features live music and other entertainment.
Another event revolving around Charlie Brown, Snoopy and other Peanuts characters will be held on weekends, starting Jan. 25.
The park will also hold its Knott’s Boysenberry Festival from March 20 through April 19.
