Fire Sunday damaged a single-story home in Lawndale, where a person at the scene was rushed to an area hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters dispatched at 11:17 a.m. to the 4700 block of West 147th Street had the fire out within 20 minutes of their arrival, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

An “extensive overhaul” was in process at the site, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The cause of the fire and damage estimates were under investigation.
