It took firefighters about an hour and 20 minutes Saturday to put out a brushfire near a model-plane airpark in the Sepulveda Basin in Van Nuys.

The fire was reported at 3:06 p.m. in about an acre of medium vegetation in the 5600 block of North Woodley Avenue, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.

The flames were out at 4:25 p.m. after the fire consumed four acres, he said.

No structures were damaged by the slow-moving fire pushed by light winds, Prange said.

“Crews will remain on scene to improve the perimeter and extinguish hot spots within the burn footprint,” he said.

No injuries were reported.
