Two motorists were killed Monday in a wrong-way crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Montrose, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Both drivers died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 2:45 a.m. on the eastbound 210 west of Rosemont Avenue. One of the vehicles was going the wrong way and slammed into the other, according to the CHP, which reported that a passenger in one of the vehicles was hospitalized with major injuries.
Authorities withheld the names of the fatally injured motorists, pending notification of their relatives.
All eastbound lanes were closed until about 7 a.m. while an investigation was conducted. Anyone with information on the crash was urged to call the CHP Altadena Area office at 626-296-8100.
