A 25-year-old female pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway in the Calabasas area was identified Friday by the coroner’s office.
Amber Garcia was struck about 8 a.m. Wednesday, east of Las Virgenes Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. It was unclear why Garcia was on the freeway.
The eastbound fast lane remained closed into Wednesday afternoon while the death investigation was conducted, the CHP reported.
