Three people were injured Saturday when one vehicle rear-ended another on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Lancaster.

It happened at 11:40 a.m. in the fast lane of the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway north of Avenue O, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of both vehicles lost control, veered to the right across all lanes and up an embankment, the CHP said.

The vehicle that rear-ended the other then veered back into freeway lanes and stopped. Its driver suffered major injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the rear-ended vehicle suffered minor injuries, the CHP said. All were taken by paramedics to Antelope Valley Hospital.

Alcohol and/or drugs were not believed involved in the crash, the CHP said.
