One person was taken to a hospital with an apparent head injury and two lanes of the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in Boyle Heights were shut down Monday morning when a big rig and vehicle collided.
The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. near the Seventh Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 5:16 a.m. for lanes 2 and 3 of the southbound Hollywood Freeway to remove the vehicle from underneath the big rig.
