Two detached garages in Panorama City with several vehicles inside were damaged by fire Tuesday morning, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from reaching a nearby home.
Crews responded to the 14600 block of Plummer Street, near Van Nuys Boulevard, at 2:22 a.m. and quickly engaged in an offensive attack on the structures, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters kept the flames from spreading into a nearby home and a knockdown was called at 2:47 a.m., she said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
How many vehicles were damaged was not immediately known.
