A big rig partially went over an embankment and overturned in Cerritos Monday afternoon, but no serious injuries were reported.
The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. at the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway transition to the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews arrived on scene about 10 minutes later and confirmed that the driver had gotten out of the overturned truck without assistance, the department’s Leslie Lua said.
One person was taken to a hospital to be checked out, according to Lua, who could not confirm that the patient was the driver, who reportedly suffered minor injuires.
