Hawthorne-based SpaceX successfully launched its 26th and final mission of 2020 Saturday, a classified mission for the National Reconnaissance Office.
The mission, dubbed NROL-108, lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 6 a.m. PST.
The launch used Falcon 9’s first stage booster, which previously supported SpaceX’s 19th and 20th cargo resupply missions to the International Space Station, a Starlink mission, and the SAOCOM 1B mission.
Following stage separation, SpaceX landed Falcon 9’s first stage on a landing zone at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the 70th successful recovery of a first-stage booster for SpaceX.
Saturday’s launch had been scheduled for Thursday, but was delayed due to technical issues.
SpaceX previously conducted a launch for the NRO in 2017.
