Firefighters knocked down a fire inside a fourplex in the Leimert Park area.
The fire in the two-story fourplex at 4269 S. Leimert Blvd. was reported at 8:41 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The department sent 31 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 10 minutes, Stewart said.
One man was evaluated at the scene for an unspecified health issue, Stewart said. He declined to go to the hospital and was released at the scene.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
