A greater alarm fire in Reseda, driven by approximately 35 mph winds, destroyed some vegetation Saturday, damaged several outbuildings including two nearby homes and inflicted minor roof damage to a house, officials said.
The 68 firefighters dispatched at 11:53 a.m. to 18227 W. Elkwood St. had the blaze out at 12:42 p.m., said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“The fire appears to have started with a tree and spread to other structures and vegetation, with the help of approximately 35 miles per hour winds,” Prange said.
Two nearby houses suffered minor damage, Prange continued.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation, Prange said.
