It took firefighters 54 minutes to put out a blaze that may have started in a carport and spread to a vacant two-story duplex in the Mid City area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at 7:03 p.m. at 4357 W. Victoria Park Drive, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey. It was out at 7:57 p.m.
The carport was well-involved in flames when firefighters arrived, Humphrey said. It then spread to both floors of the duplex built in 1923.
One firefighter suffered a laceration during the battle but no other injuries were reported, he said.
The duplex was near but not part of the historic Victoria Park neighborhood, he said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
