A fire that burned inside one unit of a row of apartments in the Hyde Park area Monday evening was extinguished by firefighters in less than 20 minutes.
Crews responded about 10 p.m. to the 3500 block of West 71st Street, near West Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 28 firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and keep them from spreading to other units. A knockdown was called about 10:20 p.m., Humphrey said.
A civilian was being examined by paramedics at the scene for an unspecified medical complaint, Humphrey said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
