A Wilmington bar’s liquor license has been suspended for 30 days because of illegal drink solicitations, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control announced Friday.
Undercover agents visited Amelia’s Club at 403 N. Avalon Blvd. numerous times during an investigation and discovered violations of the bar’s license to sell beer, prompting a 19-count accusation to be filed, according to John Carr, the department’s public information officer.
Illegal drink solicitations can contribute to the over-service of alcohol and possibly other violations of law, Carr said.
The notice of the license suspension was posted outside the bar Wednesday, Carr said.
The bar is prohibited from selling, serving and allowing consumption of alcoholic beverages during the suspension period. The department has also placed the club’s license on probation with an order of revocation stayed for three years on the condition that no cause for disciplinary action occur within that three-year period.
