An explosion, apparently caused by a gas leak, rocked a house Sunday evening in Valley Glen, leaving one person critically injured and a second buried in rubble.
The explosion severely damaged the home at 12739 Archwood St., and was reported at 9:26 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
One man was transported to a hospital with critical burn injuries, Stewart said. A second man was dug out of the debris by firefighters, who are trying to determine what if any injuries that person suffered. He was also transported to a hospital.
It was not immediately known if there were more people in the home, Stewart said. Southern California Gas Company is sending out a crew, she added.
