Authorities sought the public’s help Tuesday to identify a hit-and-run driver who struck a 61-year-old man in Rosemead and left him with life-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred just before 10:40 a.m. Monday on San Gabriel Boulevard south of Garvey Avenue, near Zapopan Park, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect fled the scene following the collision.

Authorities later located the vehicle — a black 2009 Nissan Altima with a white bumper — but the driver was not found, Schrader said.

Anyone with information on the collision or the driver was asked to contact LASD Detective Bravo at 626-292-3389. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
