The GLAAD Media Awards will return to in-person ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York in 2022 after being virtual in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the advocacy organization announced Thursday.

The 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles will take place on April 2, and the New York ceremony will take place on May 6.

The awards “honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues,” according to GLAAD, which stands for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Both ceremonies will feature award recipients across 28 categories and additional special onstage moments to be announced soon. Nominees will be announced on Jan. 18.

Tickets for the ceremony can be purchased at
