The coroner’s office Saturday released the name of a man killed by a hit-and-run driver in Boyle Heights.

Mauricio Molina was a 60-year-old Los Angeles resident.

Molina was walking eastbound across South Indiana Street at Dennison Street near Salazar Park about 8 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene westbound on Olympic Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where they pronounced Molina dead.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark-colored 1997 to 2001 Jeep Cherokee with black rims, according to the LAPD. Police also said the car would have extensive damage to its front end, including a broken driver’s side headlight.
