Paramedics Saturday rushed four people to an area trauma center from a two-vehicle crash on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Jefferson Park community of Los Angeles, where a motorist was trapped inside an overturned work truck, authorities said.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 6:08 a.m. to the westbound freeway, east of Crenshaw Boulevard, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The crash involved a work truck with three men inside crashing head-on into a sedan with one woman inside. The work truck overturned trapping the motorist inside.

“Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route,” said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
