A magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Sunday morning about 13.5 miles south of Malibu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 2:29 a.m. temblor was initially reported with a 4.1 magnitude but was later downgraded.
No major damage has been reported.
Southland residents on social media have reported feeling the jolt, especially in Malibu, Santa Monica and West Los Angeles but also as far away as Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
