The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday for the fifth time in six days following a run of 39 decreases in 40 days, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.737.
The average price is 4.2 cents more than one week ago and 27.8 cents higher than one year ago but 24.6 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has risen 4.7 cents over the past six days, including 1 cent Wednesday. It decreased 48 cents during the run to its lowest amount since Feb. 10.
The average price has dropped $1.757 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose for the sixth consecutive day following an 11-day streak of decreases totaling 12.7 cents, increasing 2.3 cents to $4.629. It has risen 9.1 cents over the past six days, including nine-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 8.1 cents more than one week ago and 25.4 cents higher than one year ago but 20.3 cents less one month ago. It has dropped $1.83 from its record high of $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped one-tenth of a cent for the fourth time in six days to $3.121. It was unchanged Monday and dropped four-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The national average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago but 12.5 cents less than one month ago and 1.2 cents lower than one year ago. It has decreased $1.895 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
