The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the seventh time in eight days, decreasing 2.3 cents to $4.685, following a run of nine increases in 11 days totaling 7 cents.

The average price has dropped 7.5 cents over the past eight days, including 1 cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.1 cents less than one week ago and 14.8 cents lower than one month ago but 18.5 cents more than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.809 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the seventh consecutive day, decreasing 2.6 cents to $4.58. It has decreased 8.3 cents over the past seven days, including 1.8 cents Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 8.2 cents less than one month ago but 16.7 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.879 since rising to a record $6.459 set Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price was unchanged, remaining at $3.078, one day after a 14-day streak of decreases totaling 5 cents ended when it rose one-tenth of a cent. It is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 8 cents lower than one month ago and 19.2 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has decreased $1.938 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
