The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose three-tenths of a cent Friday to $4.542, one day after a 20-day streak of decreases totaling 21.8 cents that dropped it to its lowest amount since Jan. 24, 2023, ended when it was unchanged.
The average price is 3.6 cents less than one week ago, 17.4 cents lower than one month ago and 1.1 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.952 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The run of 20 decreases in 22 days totaling 23.3 cents to the Orange County average price ended with an increase of 1.2 cents to $4.442. It is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 15.5 cents lower than one month ago and 4.7 cents below what is was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $2.017 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.103, the fourth consecutive increase after a four-day streak of decreases totaling 1.7 cents. It has risen 2.6 cents over the past four days, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday.
The national average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, but 2.3 cents less than one month ago and 39.9 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.913 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
