The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent Thursday to $5.393, after dropping a half-cent the previous two days following a 28-day streak of increases totaling 44 cents.
The average price is 3.6 cents more than one week ago, 43.6 cents higher than one month ago, and 44.3 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.101 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the second time in three days following a 28-day streak of increases totaling 44 cents that boosted it to its highest amount since Oct. 24, deceasing three-tenths of a cent to $5.346.
The streak ended Tuesday when the average price dropped two-tenths of a cent. It rose three-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 43.8 cents higher than one month ago, and 41.7 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.113 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the 14th time in 16 days, increasing 1.4 cents to $3.674. It has increased 13.9 cents over the past 16 days, including 1.6 cents Wednesday. The national average price rose 10 consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday and Sunday and resumed increasing Monday.
The national average price is 4.4 cents more than one week ago and 20.7 cents higher than one month ago but two-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.342 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
