The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 31st time in 32 days, decreasing 1.7 cents to $4.917, its lowest amount since March 5.
The average price has dropped 39.9 cents over the past 32 days, including 2.5 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 20 consecutive days, was unchanged May 27 and resumed dropping the following day.
The average price is 11.7 cents less than one week ago, 38.8 cents lower than one month ago and 2.1 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.577 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 24th time in 25 days, decreasing 2 cents to $4.817, its lowest amount since Feb. 28. The average price has dropped 35.3 cents over the past 25 days, including 1.9 cents Thursday. It decreased 15 consecutive days, was unchanged May 28 and resumed dropping the following day.
The Orange County average price is 12.7 cents less than one week ago, 39.6 cents lower than one month ago and 6.3 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.642 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“According to Oil Price Information Service, Los Angeles wholesale gasoline prices are dropping as large supplies of imported gasoline continue to arrive in Southern California,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“A few Southern California gas stations are now charging less than $4.10 a gallon for regular unleaded.”
The national average price dropped for the 15th consecutive day, decreasing 1.6 cents to $3.471. It has dropped 14.4 cents over the past 15 days, including 1.6 cents Thursday.
The national average price is 8.8 cents less than one week ago, 16.9 cents lower than one month ago and 8.2 cents below what is was one year ago. It has dropped $1.545 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
