The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Friday to $4.569, a day after rising one-tenth of a cent.
The average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 16.1 cents less than one month ago and 69 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.925 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.499, a day after rising one-tenth of a cent. It is 1.9 cents more than one week ago, 15.3 cents less than one month ago and 71 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.96 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped nine-tenths of a cent to $3.433, a day after dropping three-tenths of a cent.
It is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 8.2 cents less than one month ago and 44 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.583 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“Oil prices are down for this week and are about in the middle range of their average for the past year, so if that trend continues, we could see downward pressure on pump prices,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
