The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell Wednesday to its lowest amount since Dec. 31, 2022, dropping eight-tenths of a cent to $4.489, the 10th decrease in 11 days.

The average price has dropped 3.6 cents over the past 11 days, including 1.1 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped eight consecutive days, rose a half-cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 11.2 cents lower than one month ago and 67.8 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.005 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since Dec. 30, 2022, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.395, falling for the second consecutive day after a four-day streak of increases totaling 1 cent. It is 1.1 cents less than one week ago, 13.9 cents lower than one month ago and 62.3 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $2.064 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

A six-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 2.9 cents ended with an increase of six-tenths of a cent to $3.084. The national average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, 11.7 cents lower than one month ago and 28.1 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.932 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
