The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday for the 24th time in 25 days, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.789, its highest amount since June 27.
The average price has risen 29.8 cents over the past 25 days, including six-tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose a half-cent Jan. 26 and four-tenths of a cent Jan. 27, dropped four-tenths of a cent Jan. 28 and resumed increasing Jan. 29.
The average price is 6.7 cents more than one week ago and 29.5 cents higher than one month ago, but 2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.705 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The streak of increases to the Orange County average price was extended to 23 days, but barely, rising one-tenth of a cent to $4.758, its highest amount since June 11. It has increased 32.3 cents over the past 23 days, including one-tenth of a cent Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 4.6 cents more than one week ago and 31.6 cents higher than one month ago but six-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.701 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price resumed increasing, rising three-tenths of a cent to $3.164, one day after a run of six increases in eight days totaling 2.5 cents ended when it was unchanged. The national average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago and 4.4 cents higher than one month ago but 11.5 cents less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.852 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
