The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped seven-tenths of a cent Thursday to $4.765 after back-to-back decreases of six-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago and 4 cents lower than one year ago but 26.5 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.729 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the seventh time in eight days following a 23-day streak of increases totaling 32.3 cents that boosted it to its highest amount since June 11, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.73.
The Orange County average price has dropped 2.8 cents over the past eight days, including six-tenths of a cent Wednesday. It dropped three consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.
The Orange County average price is 2.7 cents less than one week ago and 4.4 cents lower than one year ago but 29.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.729 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the seventh consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.125. It has dropped 4 cents over the past seven days, including six-tenths of a cent Wednesday.
The national average price is three-tenths of a cent more than one month ago but 14.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.891 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
