The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.842.

The average price has dropped 8.4 cents over the past 11 days, including a half-cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The average price is 4.4 cents less than one week ago and 55.1 cents lower than one year ago but 18.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.652 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 12th consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.78. It has dropped 10 cents over the past 12 days, including two-tenths of a cent Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 5 cents less than one week ago and 56.6 cents lower than one year ago but 16.1 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.679 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 12th time in 13 days, decreasing a half-cent to $3.162. It has dropped 10.6 cents over the past 13 days, including two-tenths of a cents Thursday. The national average price decreased two consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent April 7 and resumed dropping the next day.

The national average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago and 51.2 cents lower than one year ago but 8.4 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.854 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
