The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.815.
The average price has dropped 6 cents over the past nine days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 3.7 cents less than one week ago and 56.6 cents lower than one year ago but 15.9 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.679 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 15th time in 16 days, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.761. It has dropped 12.8 cents over the past 16 days, including six-tenths of a cent Tuesday. The average price dropped 13 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.
The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 54.8 cents lower than one year ago but 15.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.698 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the third consecutive day following a run of 14 decreases in 15 days totaling 11.7 cents, increasing a half-cent to $3.171. It has risen 2 cents over the past three days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday.
The national average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 4.6 cents higher than one month ago but 49.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.845 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
