A busted fire suppression sprinkler system caused flooding inside a warehouse in Lake Elsinore Wednesday, but no injuries were reported.
The water damage call was received just before noon Wednesday at 29315 Central Ave., just east of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said an engine crew and truck company were sent to the location and discovered that the fire suppression system had malfunctioned, causing water to pool within the vacant commercial structure.
Firefighters disabled the broken system without further incident, according to reports from the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies closed access to the property as a public safety precaution.
The required cleanup was expected to be handled by the building owner.
There was no immediate word on what caused the sprinkler system to malfunction.
