A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a collision with a U-Haul truck on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, a police lieutenant said.

The collision occurred at 8:40 p.m. at PCH and Eighth Street, said Huntington Beach police Lt. Kent Ferrin.

“The motorcycle was northbound on PCH. The person driving the U-Haul exited Eighth Street onto PCH and was in the intersection when the collision occurred,” Ferrin said.

The U-Haul driver was crossing the northbound lanes to turn southbound, he said.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Ferrin said.

The investigation is continuing to determine which driver was at fault, he said.

The motorcyclist’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
