A fire on Monday damaged a Yorba Linda home, where a resident breathed some smoke and firefighters rescued a bulldog.
The blaze started about 10:30 a.m. in the 19800 block of Felicia Drive, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi. It was under control by noon, Concialdi said.
A female was treated by paramedics for mild smoke inhalation, Capt. Steve Hurdle said. The woman, who is in her 20s, was taken to Placentia-Linda Hospital by her mother, Concialdi said.
The victim, the only person in the house at the time of the blaze, managed to get one bulldog out of the home safely, and firefighters rescued a second bulldog named Buddy, Concialdi said.
The fire’s cause was under investigation, Hurdle said.
The home sustained “heavy fire damage” throughout, Concialdi said.
