Santa Ana police asked for the public’s help Wednesday in identifying a woman who has thrown bottles at a Buddhist temple at least seven times since Dec. 16, damaging some marble statues.
The vandal hurls the bottles at the Hong Tich Buddhist Temple in the 4800 block of Fifth Street between 9 a.m. and noon, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The temple has been vandalized on Dec. 16, 18, 25, 30, 31 as well as on Friday and Monday. Police have video of woman throwing bottles at the temple on three occasions, Bertagna said.
Some marble statues in front of the temple have been damaged, Bertagna said.
The suspect is an Asian woman, 25 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds, with short dark hair, Bertagna said.
