One person was killed and four were injured when an altercation at a Santa Ana restaurant led to a shooting, police said.
The altercation broke out at the restaurant at 301 North Tustin Ave. at 12:45 a.m., Monday, said Santa Ana Police Corporal Anthony Bertagna. A Google search of the address indicated the restaurant is El Zocalo Mexican Grill and Seafood.
During the altercation, a man was fatally wounded and died at the scene, Bertagna said. Two people were wounded by gunfire.
Two of the four injured are regarded as suspects.
“The two suspects were injured not by gunshots but they were injured when patrons and security guards took them into custody,” Bertagna said.
Of the injured and wounded, two were taken to Western Medical Center Santa Ana and two were taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Bertagna said.
More than 20 witnesses were taken to the Santa Ana Police station for questioning, he said.
Tustin Avenue was shut down to traffic between First and Fourth streets for the police investigation.
